Plant WomanFirst Appearance: 01.03.25/0062, Grounded For Life Appearances In Comic: 213 Most Recent Appearance: 03.08.05/0577, June 20th, 20XX Height: 80 pixels Race: Robot, MK.VI Current Status: Alive Bio: A sweet, kind, but thoroughly naive robot living in the Wily Factory, Plant Woman is most likely the heart and soul of the cast. Her innocent, whimsical behaviour makes her extremely likable, but her appearance of looking exactly like a human being (albeit with vines growing out of her back) makes people feel threatened. Plant Woman is technically the youngest of the five robots that take residence in the Wily Factory, though she was built awfully close in time to when her three "uncles", Cut Man, Guts Man, and Heat Man, were. She is undeniably the strongest out of all of them. Plant Woman is a Mark VI, and is technically the only robot of her kind (with X dead), in that she's an artificial being who looks and acts completely human. Though Blues and Rock/Megaman were originally thought to be Mark VI robots as well, it was recently revealed that the two are actually cyborgs (humans with machine parts). This ability gives her the ability to make her own choices, rather than actually following the directives of a human being, making her what's known as a "Reploid". This quality has labelled her a danger to society and the International Robotics Committee initially was going to melt her down until Freeze Man started messing up Megalopolis. She is the only robot in In Wily's Defense who has actually killed a human being and violated the First Law of Robotics, choosing to save the lives of Amy Wily and Heat Man from a desperate Dr. Light. Plant Woman's name is often shortened to "Plantie", a name she doesn't seem to mind. Plant Woman's Abilities: Plantie has many abilities related to her, either from her design or from the aspects of her combat suit. The vines on her back are surprisingly powerful and can be manipulated as Plant Woman sees fit, using them similarly to tentacles or an extra pair of hands. The vines are strong enough to send a robot the size of Pharaoh Man flying out of a window with just a frontal thwack, and send Mega Man crashing through the roof of the Wily Factory with a single upward throw. They are also strong enough to rip through X's body armor with a puncture-like attack. Plant Woman's most powerful skill is a defensive one... she is fully capable of generating an energy barrier around herself, made out of petals. This barrier can deflect nearly every manner of energy-based attack (Eddie is thus far the only character in IWD who has been able to break the barrier), but does no good against close combat attacks. Her combat suit grants her the use of her plasma cannon. Her cannon is particularly high grade, and she's proven capable of destroying an unarmored, two-story demon with one blast. It does little good against anything designed to protect itself from energy blasts, such as X's body armor, however. It's claimed that Plant Woman has something called a "seed launcher", but she's yet to use it. |
