  The Introduction of Cut Man

So, it was the spring of 2003, and a friend of mine named Kevin Martin encouraged me to read Bob and George. I ended up reading the whole archive, and realized that sprite comics had to be really easy. I thought I could make one, as well, so I first started a comic called "The Adventures of Codemaster & Friends".

It was done primarilly to placate some of my friends in the eWrestling community, but the sprites were awful (being my first customs/edits), the jokes were very insidey and wouldn't have been gotten by anyone outside of my "circle", the production was a mess, and the four panel format that I was using seriously limited my capacity to make jokes. After about fifty issues, I honestly threw out what I made and vowed to start again anew.

I started to make some vague plans at launching a new comic, primarilly based on the Robot Masters. I chose eight robots from the eight games to be the main characters, eventually choosing Guts Man (1), Heat Man (2), Gemini Man (3), Pharaoh Man (4), Gyro Man (5), Plant Man (6), Freeze Man (7), and, as I'm cheating here, Cut Man (8 in the Saturn version). Of course, I never had a set goal when I started the comic, I just sort of *made* them and a story came about several comics after the fact.

These early comics were kind of pointless in the grand scheme of things, though I suppose if I didn't screw around as much as I did with this comic, the characters wouldn't have ended up as fleshed out as they were.
